Ray Racila grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Charles F. Brush High School and then from Bowling Green State University.
Before starting law school, Ray was already an experienced insurance adjuster with advancements to a claims supervisor and claims manager for a successful independent insurance adjustment company. He handled personal injury claims for various insurance companies, trucking companies, and mass transit entities.
While working in the insurance industry, Ray earned his Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 1987. He became licensed to practice law in Ohio that same year and began his legal career as a personal injury attorney in Cleveland.
In 1991, the Racila family relocated to Fort Myers, Florida. Ray then passed the Florida Bar exam and began his legal career as a personal injury attorney, for what is now Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice, and Purtz.
Ray then became a founding partner in the law firm of Goldberg, Racila, Sico, and Noone, in July, 2000.
Now, since April, 2017, Ray brings decades of successful personal injury legal representation as Of Counsel to the law firm of Don Mathews & Associates, P.A.
Ray married Lili in June, 1981, and they raised two lovely daughters. Jennifer attended Fort Myers High School and Emma attended Bishop Verot. Emma played volleyball through high school and college, later representing the United States as a member of the Woman's National Deaf Volleyball Team.
When not practicing law, Ray can be found practicing golf.
